The 37th Golden Disc Awards with TikTok, which was broadcast live on JTBC2 JTBC4, was held at Rajamangala Stadium, the largest in Bangkok, Thailand. About 35,000 spectators gathered at the Golden Disc Awards. The audience, who filled the venue thoroughly, cheered for about four hours, showing their love and interest in K-pop.

 

The grand prize went to BTS and Ive. BTS, which sold more than 3.3 million copies with "Proof" released last year, continued its new record of winning the Golden Disc Awards for six consecutive years from the 32nd to the 37th.

 

Including the sound source, there are a total of seven grand trophies. The BTS won three gold medals, including the main award, TikTok popularity award, and the grand prize, and J-Hope also received the Thai Fans Support with Bao Award.

 

In the history of the 37-year Golden Disc Awards, Ive is the first to win the Rookie of the Year award and the Grand Prize at the same time. Ive, who debuted with "ELEVEN" in December 2021, recorded three consecutive mega hits, including "LOVE DIVE" and "After Like." Thanks to its popularity, it was able to make a new page in history.

 

The main awards for each category went to eight teams. The digital music category was won by (G)I-DLE, Kim Min-seok, New Jins, Park Jae-beom, Big Bang, Psy, Eye, and Lim Young-woong, and the record category was ENHYPEN, BTS, Black Pink, Seventeen, Stray Kids, NCT 127, and NCT DREAM. The winners of the Rookie of the Year award were three teams. New Gins, Le Seraphim, and Ive. Newzins' Rookie of the Year award, Main Award, and debut less than a year ago, but Le Seraphim, who is said to have no performance idol to follow, and Ive, who wrote the "legendary record" of Rookie of the Year, Main Award, and Grand Prize, all deserve applause.

Artist of the Year was Psy, and the most popular singer award was (G)I-DLE and Stray Kids. Seventeen won three awards, including the Album Main Award, Best Performance, and Thai K-pop Artist Award. Treasure went to the best group, and the best solo artist went to Yoonha and Bio, the "icon of reverse driving." Best R&B hip-hop was won by Big Natty, Thai Fans Support with Baozi was won by J-Hope and TikTok Golden Disk Popularity Award by BTS.

The MCs were Lee Da-hee, Sung Si-kyung, Park So-dam, and Nichkhun. Popular actors Song Joong-ki and Lee Joon-ho were among the presenters.

 

The winners of the 37th Golden Disc Awards, the Rookie of the Year, Main Prize, and Grand Prize were selected by an expert panel (40%) consisting of Golden Disc executive committee members, music journalists, music program producers, pop music critics, and domestic distributors (60%). The subjects of the screening were the sales volume of sound sources and albums released from early November 2021 to mid-November 2022 until the end of November 2022.
